Overall, the evidence supports the business case for offering benefits that allow caregivers to balance their jobs with other responsibilities, such as flextime and telework. For every dollar invested in flextime, businesses can expect a return of between $1.70 and $4.34, and for every dollar invested in telecommuting option of between $2.46 and $4.45.
This first integrative study of the business case for caregiver-friendly policies shows encouraging findings and should stimulate employers to offer more flexible working arrangements to reduce the impact of caregiving responsibilities on family caregivers.
